Botched Surgery and Depression

Although there have been success stories and heightened confidence in the cosmetic surgery world, there were, unfortunately, sad stories too. To some, having a surgery to alter what nature had endowed you means having a part of you taken off and thrown into a wastebasket. Once it’s cut, it’s never gonna be restored in exactly the same way. Successful operations build confidence, restore self-esteem and save a life. But botched surgeries can sway the pendulum to the other extreme… insecurity, depression and worse, death.
Sheena Person had a difficulty breathing, consulted a surgeon but failed to check credentials and trainings, leaning to a botched surgery. Had to undergo a mental health therapist for her depression. It took her 10 years of hating mirrors and editing pictures taken of her before considering to get a revision.
David Reimer was a healthy baby boy. But was raised as a girl after a botched circumcision. He became a “specimen” for a gender experiment, was subjected to series after series of gender correction and alteration. He committed suicide at age 38.
Benjamin Houghton lost his only healthy testicle after doctors mistakenly removed the right testicle instead of the left. The situation was setting him up for potential health complications including sexual dysfunction, depression, fatigue, weight gain and osteoporosis.
These are but some of the many cases where the doctor performing the surgery, instead of helping, ruined the patient’s life. Operations should be done perfectly the first time. Should be.
Patients who received support from families and health care professionals have good chance of recovery. But there were cases where depression leads to body dysmorphia - a debilitating obsession with appearance that makes sufferers hate their physical features because of perceived defects. The nature of the disorder means patients can undergo repeated procedures and still feel ugly. But this is another story.
The Cosmetic Surgery Wave

What started to be a remedy for War-shattered faces of soldiers has now evolved into something most people are seeking after to cure unsatisfactory inborn facial features. We may used to believe that surgeries for cosmetic changes are all but for the rich and famous, just for the elite. But today cosmetic surgery moved into a wider range of market and a higher level of social acceptance. From reconstructing birth or circumstantial deformalities, the procedure has shifted now, more to conform to a person’s idea of beauty.
The Institute of cosmetic surgery toronto points out that having cosmetic surgery does not only change the person’s look but the person’s confidence as well. Any woman can freely get a nose surgery if she feels her nose does not seem to complement her other facial features. A man with droopy eyes may want to have it corrected with an eyelid surgery. Why not? Through media exposure and education, today’s society is becoming more and more open to the idea that there is nothing wrong in wanting to look as good as you feel. When you had a nose or lip done, you can freely speak of it and no one would get you wrong.
Cosmetic surgery is destined to move with the next wave. While today’s society is open to such changes, it’s important that we do not lose sight of how it should be used. Patients should have realistic and informed expectations of the process before going under the knife. Getting the best doctors with the best techniques and the best tools is the best option there is, always.

There are just some things that are “nice to have”. When I was living all by myself, I have always preferred personal convenience rather than luxurious wants because of some financial constraints. Now that I’m married and my yet small family is moving to a new home, a real home for three, personal convenience is no longer always the priority. I now take a lot of time going through catalogs, web pages and stands to search for home stuff that would fit my home’s lifestyle, budget and convenience. I bet every moms would agree with me, it’s always wise to balance quality and “affordability” of anything that you bring home - from food to furniture, from flooring to ceiling accessories.
Rugs, for example. Looking for quality rugs could sometimes be frustrating. Sometime we just don’t know what to look for, where to get them and if we have, we’re not really sure if it would fit your home floors. I was looking for excellent rugs for our red flooring when I came across this site of superb quality Oriental Rugs. Ever seen Paris Hilton this pouty?

Yeah, this is Paris Hilton. And looking at the picture she seemed to have had lip job, a lip augmentation perhaps? What was the enhancement for? I think what she needs is a face lift. To me, she looks old for her age.

When I hear about chin works, the person that comes to my mind right away is Reese. She is one actress that I like and I truly admire. For one she wouldn’t have won an Oscar award ( or were there two) if she was not deserving. But on her movie “Just like Heaven”, her chin was obviously, noticeable lols..I didn’t know about Beverly Hills chin implant back then or chin augmentation for that matter. Anyway, look at this photo, between Jennifer and her, she got the most pointed chin. Sorry but it doesn’t look natural to me at all, don’t ya think? I even read one blog that refers to the chin as a deadly weapon..hehe.
Hairloss Problems

Excessive hairloss can be triggered by stress due to an illness, hormonal imbalance, fungal infection on the scalp, as side effect on a drug prescription or as part of an uderlying disease. Common baldness or permanent pattern baldness is the most common cost of hairloss in men which is usually an inherited trait. In male-pattern baldness, hair loss typically results in a receding hair line and baldness on the top of the head.
Women may develop female-pattern baldness. In this form of hair loss, the hair can become thin over the entire scalp.
Hairloss can usually be corrected by identifying its cause. If a medicine is causing your hair loss, your doctor may be able to prescribe a different medicine. Recognizing and treating an infection may help stop the hair loss. Correcting a hormone imbalance may prevent further hair loss.
In a more severe case of hairloss, hair transplant is a better option.
When done right, a hair transplant surgery can produce life long results that are so natural that even hair stylists cannot detect them. But choosing the hair restoration procedure and clinic is critical. One of the best procedures I’ve found is the one that they do in New York hair transplants.

Choosing to have plastic surgery is an important decision. You can be sure to have the best surgery experience when you are able to locate a qualified and competent plastic surgeon. The Sta Monica breast implants are one of the best in Reconstruction, Reduction and Lifts. Breast implant surgery can enhance the size and shape of your breasts. Because of improvements in surgical methods and breast-implant technology, this procedure has become more refined, providing better post-surgical results than years ago. Saline breast implants have been considered advantageous because if ruptured, the saline can be easily dissolved by the body. A disadvantage is that saline implants are more likely to show ripples through the skin.
