We all know the Simpson sisters are on a quest for perfect beauty. Around July 2009, Ashlee was found to have her chin done. That’s after having a boob reduction, a series of nose jobs and lip injections. On my opinion, this change made her look a lot older.

Whether or not her enhancements are serving her showbiz career well, you decide.

The State of the Art in Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation, sometimes casually referred to as a “boob job,” is the most popular types of cosmetic surgery in the world. It is extremely common in Hollywood stars, some types of models, and is increasingly popular within the general public. Most women say that they have the surgery to improve their self-esteem and to be able to wear certain styles of clothing that require a larger bust.

There are two basic types of implants: those filled with saline (salt water) and those filled with silicone gel. Saline breast implants have a silicone shell filled with sterile saline. The silicone gel implants have a silicone shell that is filled with silicone gel. While other substances have been tried or used in the past in breast augmentation, such as soy oil and polypropylene string, even marbles and Ox bone marrow these are no longer made.

In general, patients wanting to have breast augmentation are younger than those seeking other forms of plastic surgery. Many breast augmentation patients report having great distress about their appearance in certain situations and many report having been teased about their figure. Studies have shown that women who undergo this procedure are slightly more likely to have had psychotherapy, are more likely to have low self esteem, and have higher prevalence of depression and mental illnesses such as body dysmorphia (in which a person has a drastically unrealistic view of his or her body) compared to the general population.

Post-operative studies on quality of life and mental health show improvement in a number of dimensions among breast augmentation patients including physical health, appearance, social life, self esteem, and sexual functioning. Long term studies have shown that these initial improvemebnts may be temporary, except for bodily self esteem related to sexual attractiveness.

Breast augmentation takes about two hours depending on the surgical technique and the type of implant used. In most cases, the procedure is done in a cosmetic surgery clinic, and the patient is released to go home on the same day as the surgery. The patient does, however, require someone to drive her to and from the surgery. Usually patients are able to resume normal activities in one week’s time, though patients who have had the implant placed underneath the chest muscle will take somewhat longer to recover. Overall costs for the procedure are in the $4,000 to $10,000 range.

Choosing the Best Breast Enhancement Option

One of the best ways for women to know which breast enhancement option is best for them is to do research and gain more knowledge about each breast enhancement product or program available in the market. They can browse through countless breast enhancement reviews in the Internet. Most of these reviews mainly talk about the effectiveness of several topical and oral products that can help enhance the shape and sizes of breasts naturally.

While all breast enhancement reviews are written on different viewpoints, a majority of all these reviews have claimed that the herbal breast enhancers are the most promising among all breast enhancement methods. Mainly because these herbal supplements are less expensive than cosmetic surgery and have minimal or no medical risks.

But before a woman decides to go out and buy herbal breast enhancers, she is highly advised to ask or consult her doctor first, especially when she is under other medications or is diagnosed with a medical condition. Lactating and pregnant mothers should also be wary about using these types of herbal products as well as other breast enhancement methods.

When a woman finally decides to buy herbal breast enhancers though, she must gather more knowledge about the ingredients in the product before buying. Most reviews about breast enhancement pills and herbal products mention the different herbal ingredients used to make these supplements.

Most herbal breast enhancement pills contain fenugreek. According to these reviews, fenugreek contains several breast-enhancing properties that were used in Middle Eastern Harems. During those times, women used fenugreek seeds and mixed them with water to enhance their breasts. In addition to fenugreek, fennel, wild yam, Dong Quai, and saw palmetto are also common ingredients in breast enhancement pills.

Before it was used as a treatment for prostate cancer, saw palmetto was used originally as a natural breast enhancer. Wild yam on the other hand has been used for centuries to treat several menstrual problems and menopausal symptoms.

In addition to these herbs, certain female hormones such as estrogen and progesterone are also used as active ingredients in a majority of breast enhancement products. These hormones are basically responsible for the growth and development of the female breasts in the stage of puberty.

Some reviews also talk about topical breast enhancement products such as creams. These products also deliver visible results in a few months. Most women use them for their convenience. These creams are gently massaged into the breasts to boost its firmness and overall appearance.

The Dangers of Thrombosis (DVT) after Surgery

Read more about News Offshore, Plastic Surgery, Treatments

Plastic Surgery or any surgery for that matter could be a lethal combination with long distance travel. According to The Coalition to Prevent DVT approximately 300,000 die annually of Pulmonary Embolism – a complicated form of DVT where the blood clot breaks loose and moves into the lungs, blocking the circulation to the vital organs. This is a life-threatening condition that is linked as one of the dangers of getting cosmetic surgeries offshore.

Thrombus simply means blood clot. Blood clot on deep veins is not dangerous in itself. It is when that piece of clot breaks off and travels downstream to the heart and into the pulmonary circulation system and positions in the lungs. Newly operated travelers are more at risk.

So how soon should you fly after surgery? Mark Gendreau, MD, of Tufts University School of Medicine advises patients to wait 10 to 14 days before flying if you’ve had an orthopedic, chest, abdominal, neurological, or ear, nose, and throat procedure. During the lengthy flight, stay hydrated by drinking fluids – water, please – and avoiding diuretic fluids like caffeine or alcohol. Be an opportunist and stretch your legs whenever you can. Wear compression stockings too!

Lipotourism: Surgery Away From Home

Offshore operations is becoming a trend on cosmetic surgery.   Thailand, China, Dominican Republic are among the many countries hosting high-end procedures for breast Augmentation, liposuction, tummy tuck, face lift, breast lift, rhinoplasty, botox and restylane.  Most of these surgery packages offer lower costs on procedures plus vacations, spa treatments and wide list of adventures.  Just like any other fad or programs, cosmetic surgery has pros and cons.  It is always, always imperative to weigh the benefits versus the risks before you even fly out and get sliced.

If you are seriously considering getting surgery done offshore, it is practical to really make a list of your priorities.  Why are you going through this at all?  And for how long can you afford to be away to cover your recovery period? Because if the plan of action is not clear to you, you might just find yourself getting too stressed out travelling, take one flight after another.  After a series of operation, you can’t just fly back too soon.  And if you think  it’s a chance to bask in the sun, explore a jungle or dive to see the corals, think again. New York City Councilman Miguel Martinez was concerned because many New York City residents have been returning home after surgery and then complaining of boils, swelling and red splotches on their skin. In Eastern Europe, two patients who just had tummy tuck found their wounds reopened after the surgery. Our bodies are natural healers but it needs a support system. And what we do after the surgery contributes to the success of the procedure itself.

There are excellent Plastic Surgeons offshore, that’s for sure. So make sure you choose the most dependable surgeon in the land because coming home with a botched surgery is not what you are after. Remedies and repairs are much more difficult on surgeries gone wrong than it would on an inborn-not-so-perfect countenance. My suggestion is: do an extensive research.  Preparation is a key factor to avoid unpleasant surprises and enjoy the experience.  A specific step would be, check if the doctor is a local choice of the country’s leading celebrities. Considering the country’s cost of living, is the cost impossibly cheap? Or is it competitive enough?

Check if the package suits your body and your lifestyle. Always put your medical condition in perspective. Respect your body limits. Don’t sign in for skiing, diving, extended and long flights, swimming nor exercising when you still have fresh stitches. The best package would be one that will promote healing and rejuvenation above tourism and adventure. You deserve no less than an excellent medical care so make sure your decision is well thought-out.

Stopping Stupid Hair Growth

Our bodies are designed to protect itself from unwanted dirt and dusts… with hair.  The hair, no matter how good its intentions are, are just unsightly when it’s sprouting on body parts that we don’t mind to be exposed.  This has been my dilemma.  Different skin types require different methods of hair removal.  That is what I found out when I started waxing instead of shaving because the waxed area darkened.  It was a horrifying experience, not to mention painful.  I swore to myself shaving and waxing is just not for me.  I am yet to try cream or topical solutions like this product placed below:

If you’re looking for a quick, sure way of getting rid of unwanted body hair, then be with me on this quest.  The product claims to be a hair inhibitor that frees both men and women from the painful and costly process of waxing, electrolysis, sugaring or laser.  Sounds good to me.

Weight Loss in 10 days

Read more about Weight Loss

Most women, except on some cultural differences, prefer to be as slim and trim as possible.  Why so?  For a number of good reasons:

1.  To achieve a healthy balance of weight and height.   Obesity leads to other complications and we don’t want that.

2. Mobility.  It’s much easier to move around without having to carry extra packets of unsolicited flabs.

3. Self-confidence.  Having that curves makes fashion and dressing up sexy a whole lot interesting.  Take the extra layers off, show some skin.

But the pressing question is: HOW?

My friend, Joyie found an answer.  She followed the 10-day program of The Master Cleanse and the changes were remarkable.  She had that baby fat ever since and it’s only now that she got rid of that.  The good thing about this is that it restores your body to its normal, healthy state. The process is not complicated. But just like any other programs, it takes discipline.  It’s really really easy to follow though. It’s mainly a list of what to eat, what to do and what to avoid.  So let your first day be today for a whole new you.
